Sloplock welcomes AI-made mods. Be honest about how you made yours, and respect other modders' work.

1Show your receipts

Rate AI use for art, code, audio, concept and the listing itself, from None to Full. Rate what you actually did, and update the rating when a new version changes it.

Mods with ratings that are clearly wrong get hidden until the author fixes them.

2Make your own thing

Original work is welcome at any level of AI use. These are not allowed:

  • Re-uploads of other people's mods, with or without changes.
  • Mods that recreate a specific existing mod closely enough that players would mistake one for the other.
  • Remixes made without the original author's permission or shared without credit on the mod page.
  • Training on or prompting AI to imitate a specific modder's work.

Valve's own game files are fine to build on. Assets ripped from other games are not.

3Credit your sources

List the mods, artists and tools you built on in the credits.

4Keep it safe

  • Files must be .zip or .vpk and contain only what the mod needs. No executables, scripts or installers.
  • Mark NSFW mods as NSFW. They're hidden unless players opt in.
  • No hateful content, harassment, or sexual content involving real people or minors.

5When something gets reported

Anyone can report a mod. We compare reported rip-offs against the original before acting.

Removed mods disappear from the site.

Think we got it wrong? Reply from the removal notice in My mods, or email [email protected], and we'll take another look.
